Meet Katie Johnson

Hello, my name is Katie Johnson, my family and I moved to Ashby in August 2016, after attending HTA from a distance (Narborough 20 miles away to be exact) for around 9 months. We fell in love with Ashby and the amazing church family at HTA and couldn't be happier a year later for our faith decision to move here. I am married to Mark, and we have 3 children; Lauren (13), Daniel (12) and Tom (7). I have a BA Honours Degree in Social & Professional studies in Learning Difficulties from King Alfreds College in Winchester and worked for nearly 10 years both as a volunteer and manager within this field before taking time out to have my children. I came to faith in 2008, having heard a talk from John Kirkby (founder of Christians Against Poverty), and knew God was calling me to become involved with Christians Against Poverty. From 2009, I was lead CAP Money coach at my old church, and over the next 5 years ran many courses and led people to first time commitments and re-commitments in Jesus Christ. From Nov 2011-April 2015, I was Debt Centre manager at the Narborough Debt Centre. In May 2014, I became East Midlands Area Manager for Debt Centres and in Feb 2016 extended this role to become the East Midlands All Services Area Manager (to include Job Clubs, Release Groups and Life Skills).

I have a huge passion to see the local church meet the needs of their community and to help bring people into a loving relationship with Jesus Christ. It is that passion that I bring to my new role as Director or CAP services here in Ashby and the Midlands National Forest. I would love to meet the people that have prayed, sown into financially and served with our service over the last 5 years; so please, do catch me when you see me in town and say hello, introduce yourselves (though be warned my capacity to remember names and faces is poor - so don't be offended if I think we are meeting for the first time!), I would love to hear your stories of our service and take your passion into the next 5 years.

Every blessing, Katie
