2020-04 - Phone Support bannerPhone Support Team

What support is available?

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, we are offering support to anyone (over the age of 18) facing social isolation in Ashby and the surrounding area, who would appreciate receiving a friendly weekly phone call.

We are linking those requesting support with trained volunteers, who will offer to call regularly once a week (eg. 10am on Mondays), for up to 20 minutes. This service will be provided for the duration of the current crisis.

Our dedicated phone team is made up of people from local Christian churches and is for people of all faiths and none. All our volunteers have completed C1 safeguarding training (or equivalent) and have a current DBS on file, together with a personal reference from their church minister.

We’re here, so that no-one staying safe at home goes without hearing a kind voice and having a listening ear.
