Volunteer Process 

  • First Contact with Foodbank Manager (maybe with someone else first)
  • Initial Chat, at the foodbank
  • Fill in the application forms (online, or on paper)
    • Provide two references
  • Interview with one duty manager and the foodbank manager
  • Book three sessions on the rota, close together, and a review meeting date
    • Book a first Session Induction
      • Health and Safety
      • Manual Handling
      • Confidentiality
      • Requirement for safeguarding training
      • Provide a 'Trainee' foodbank Badge
  • Review (ideally with the same duty manager) and manager
    • If fully trained
      • Put on the rota
      • Remove "Trainee" from badge and login
      • Presented with new badge at briefing
    • If additional training required (e.g. because sessions quiet, or issues to be addressed)
      • Book a further three sessions (or as required)
      • Keep the Trainee status
    • If there should be a parting of ways
      • Ashby foodbank will be gentle and clear.
