PRAYING FOR FIG TREE*Praying for Fig Tree

This summer, we’re hosting a series of three summer gatherings, for members of our Holy Trinity church family, who would like to continue to pray for Fig Tree, our new church community.

How do I know if these gatherings are for me?

You’re invited, if Trinity is currently your main spiritual home - and you would like to pray with and for us on our onward church planting journey.

Following on from Firehouse (our 28 day summer festival of prayer) we are looking for people who are willing to continue to pray with us, as we look forwards towards to the formation and establishing of this new church community.

We are keen that these three summer gatherings include three kinds of people:

  • THE WONDERING Those who are beginning to wonder if God might be calling them to be part of a future church planting group. Those who may have some first stirrings of a sense of call to come with us and help us plant - and would like to pray for Fig Tree. Those who understand that continuing to explore coming with us, will involve a shared discernment journey and decision making process over time.
  • THE OPEN-MINDED Those who do not currently have any sense of call to help plant Fig Tree, but are open to finding out more about the kind of church we are hoping to plant - and are willing to continue to seek God and pray with us for this new church community.
  • THE CHAMPIONS Those who may have a deep sense God is calling them to stay and serve at Holy Trinity - but also a call to continue to pray for Fig Tree. Those with a sense God may be calling them to serve as advocates for the new church plant, as they remain at Holy Trinity themselves. Those with a sense of God’s call to prayerfully and/or practically support those God may be calling to ‘go’.

If you feel like you’re someone who is ‘wondering’ about coming with us as we plant Fig Tree, ‘open-minded’ about finding out more, or deeply committed to staying at Holy Trinity, but wanting to ‘champion’ and pray for Fig Tree, we would love to have you with us.

Our three summer gatherings will include prayer, conversation and food and will take place on the dates below.

We’ll be making these events family friendly - and accompanied kids are very welcome.

We’ll be keeping our times of prayer quite short (around 15 minutes max) - and these will intentionally include prayer activities that are suitable for big kids and little kids (of all ages!)

You are welcome to join us for one, two or all three of the dates below:
